Better vs. Best

In Chapter 10 of The Story, we read about Saul, the first King of Israel.  In many ways Saul's reign was a success.  He united the tribes of Israel, and won many military victories.  But Saul had one big problem: He couldn't follow directions.

Samuel, the prophet of God, gave Saul specific directions: Completely destory the Amalekites, and everything that belongs to them.  But Saul kept the choice livestock.  When Samuel asked him why, he said he was saving them for a sacrifice.

If we take Saul at his word, what he wanted to do was a good thing, sacrifice to God.  But Saul's good idea ran counter to God's command.  Today, we struggle with the same problems in every area of our life, choosing God's commands over our good ideas.

Is there an area of life where you struggle to follow God's commands?
